Micro:Bit/Scratch for ages 8+
Micro:bit/Scratch Coding and Electronics Workshop
Give your child a hands-on introduction to coding, electronics, and real-world problem solving with the BBC micro:bit. This interactive workshop is designed for beginners and curious learners who want to understand how technology works by building and programming their own projects.
Over six engaging sessions, students will explore how computers interact with the physical world. They will learn to program LEDs, use buttons, collect sensor data, send radio messages between devices, and even begin working with Python. Each week builds on the last, combining creativity with practical STEM skills in a supportive, fun environment.
What students will learn:
Inputs and outputs, LEDs and buttons
Sensors and reading data
Radio communication between devices
Data logging and simple experiments
Creative coding projects
Introduction to Python programming
No prior coding experience is required. Students will leave with a strong foundation in computational thinking, confidence in problem solving, and excitement about technology.
